Logistics & Travel

Dates and Times:

The doors open on Weds, 31st July at 11:00. Please arrive between 11:00 – 12:30. When you arrive, you can check in and find your allocated room. Lunch is served Wednesday from 12:30 – 14:00. The program starts Wednesday at 14:00 and ends on Sunday, 4th August at 17:00.

What to Bring:

  • Bed sheets and towel
    • You may rent bed sheets for €7, towel for €3, or sheet/towel set for €10. Please bring cash and correct change.
  • Clothes you can move in, and layers for warm, cold, wet and dry weather (think Dutch summer!)
  • Some clothes to party / dress up
  • Earplugs and or sleeping mask if you are a light sleeper, as we’ll sleep in shared rooms
  • We invite you to bring your own reusable bottle or mug. There will be drink stations in every building where you can wash and refill your bottle/mug. There are also small glasses provided in the dining room.


Healthy and organic breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks are provided. Alcoholic drinks will be served on the night of the party, but are not included in the price. Bring money for the cash bar.

If you have special dietary requirements, you can submit your request on the form here asap. We will do our best to accommodate your request, but cannot guarantee it, nor place any special food orders with the vendor at this time.


Standard rooms fit 2 and 3 people. If you would like to make a room sharing request, please fill out this room request form asap. We will do our best to accommodate your request, but cannot guarantee it. If you don’t submit a request, you will be assigned to a shared room – and you are welcome to trade rooms among yourselves once you are there.

Cleaning & Dishes:

We ask you to help out every once in a while with small tasks such as doing dishes and some cleaning.
Please check the schedule for your dishes shift here,  which is also posted in the Main Building (B) and Dining Room (C).
We appreciate organising the Festival together with you all and making this into a co-creation!

By Car:
From Schiphol airport- Havelte is 112 km, a car ride of approximately 1.5 hour. For your navigation system, enter: Meeuwenveenweg 1, 7971 PK Havelte. If you come by car, you may want to carpool fellow travelers. You can coordinate this on the Facebook event page.

By Taxi:
With a taxi, the ride is 2 – 2.5 hours. The most economical taxi can be booked in advance on this website. You need to order it in advance by at least 4 hours. With this deal, the price per person is approximately: €43 for group of 4, €30 for group of 6, €23 for group of 8. The cost nearly doubles if you get a taxi at the airport, although it is possible negotiate a deal with taxi drivers, especially if you have a group.

By Public Transportation:
The train connection is approximately €30 in total. Ask for an up to date travel plan at NS desk at the airport before you leave. From Schiphol airport, the travel is 2.5 – 3 hours. Trains depart at least every 30 minutes with changing trains one or two times.
1) First leg, take a train in direction Leeuwwarden.
2) Second leg, connect on train to Meppel (direction Havelte).
3a) Third leg, a regional taxi service can take you directly to Meeuwenveen from Meppel train station. You will need to arrange for your own taxi to and from the venue. Book in advance (recommended 1 day beforehand) by calling +31 522855818 (local dial 0522-855818) or sending a WhatsApp to +31 629624018 or book taxi reservation online here. The vans fit 6-8 people and cost approximately € 5 per person when you wait to fill the taxi with 6-8 people. When you go alone using the taxi, the price will be € 35. 3b) Or you can get out at Meppel and take bus 20 (16 minutes) to the stop ‘Havelterbrug’ and have a 13-minute walk.
4) Fourth leg, for walking from the bus stop, if you are good at navigation. It’s a beautiful road, but not suitable for a wheeled suitcase.
