Connection Laboratory and Playshop

Led by Amy Silverman

You can discover more about a person in an hour of play than in a year of conversation. ~Plato

It’s the first night of the Festival – drop into a welcoming space designed to weave connection and community. You’ll enter an explorative experience rooted in Authentic Relating, Improvisation, Creative Drama, Collaboration, and Communication Games which provide ways of seeing, connecting, appreciating yourself and others at many levels. In this laboratory environment with Amy Silverman, experimentation is not only welcome, it’s encouraged. We’ll dive into exercises calling on our spontaneity and our playfully creative and inventive natures as human beings. Activities will include exercises that you may even remember from your childhood or drama class but they will be experienced in a whole new way as we reflect and process them through a lens of Circling principles, development and co-discovery. This interactive playshop will help you unpack and experiment with many forms of Connection including Play, Shared Activity/Project/Problem Solving, Informational Exchange, Personal Reveal, and Physical Touch. You’ll walk away from this session with new insights around entry-points to connection and an expanded appreciation of the many ways humans can deeply connect.

Play is the only way the highest intelligence of humankind can unfold. ~Joseph Chilton Pearce
